ShopSavvy for Blackberry Update!
Okay, I will admit that two of our developers have been working on a Blackberry version of ShopSavvy for about 30 days. There are still a number hurdles they need to overcome, but a version of ShopSavvy for Blackberry is definitely on its way. Once the application is working we will complete the UI and design and release the application. Based on our current workload I suspect that the application skeleton will be completed in early January and by mid-March we could have the UI completed. Please don’t hold me to these dates. There are a number of projects that could extend this time line. So App World, get ready for ShopSavvy.
Wow, I came here checking on this very thing, and it’s at the top of the blog. Awesome, look forward to having ShopSavvy on my BB Tour in the spring. Keep it up guys!

My bastard friend just got a new phone – HTC Hero. Before he gives it to me to play with he tells me about this great app that he found and I must see, and then proceeds to demonstrate ShopSavvy for me. I wanted to kill him right then.
I can only contain my homicidal feelings for a month or two. So, guys, to save the life of a dear friend of mine – please, release the blackberry version now!!!
If you don’t, his death will be on your hands.
I’m just saying…

OMG – we are working on it. Please don’t do anything rash!!!!
Comment by amuse — December 13, 2009 @ 9:25 pm
I’ll try not to. But these voices in my head. They keep getting louder……. Saying things like “I wonder how much that item would be on the internet”. “Don’t buy it in this shop, it’s bound to be cheaper somewhere else”. But these voices don’t tell me where!!!
Comment by gib — December 14, 2009 @ 8:21 am

The frame rate on the Storm is VERY slow. We are struggling to get this going – we will figure it out eventually.
Comment by amuse — December 23, 2009 @ 9:12 pm
Don’t waste your time on the storm then! Just get the Bold going!!!
Comment by Gib — December 24, 2009 @ 4:16 pm
Lol or getting it going on the Pearl 8120 would be cool too! I would be happy to alpha or beta test as well! Please out me on your mailing list!
Comment by Gabby — December 25, 2009 @ 11:47 pm
Please hurry…edocrab is too slow (if it works) and scanlife doesn’t even do that. As an ecommerce owner ShopSavvy would be of great help to our business.
Comment by Dove Marketplace — December 26, 2009 @ 1:15 am
I’d even be thrilled with a non-scanning version; I’d enter the UPC code manually into a ShopSavvy app if I had to! I suspect the Bold 9000 camera isn’t going to work well since it doesn’t autofocus.

We are releasing a .mobi version of ShopSavvy for anyone with a smartphone. This should be a stop-gap until we release on your platform.

Comment by Rob Emmerson — January 8, 2010 @ 12:45 pm
cant you guys just release some version for the other bb’s and just do the storm later… look at the sales numbers – nobody even has storms anymore they suck. just release one for the tour/bold/curve people. whats going to happen is everyone is using this edocrab program, theyre going to get used it it, update it as it gets polished, and then forget about shopsavvy. you guys really should be out there, like LAST YEAR. bb outsold all other platforms this holiday season (again), why dont you make this a priority. i never even pay for apps, and i would actually pay a couple of bucks for this if it was released already…

This is THE ONE app I want on my Bold 9000. Does this .mobi version work on bold 9000? How do I get it?
Comment by John Liu — January 9, 2010 @ 11:58 pm
And yes, even if I have to type in the UPC code … or voice recognition?
Comment by John Liu — January 10, 2010 @ 12:01 am
We’ve got a solution. It is pretty novel (works on all BB versions). We just need some time.
Comment by amuse — January 10, 2010 @ 9:08 pm
I’d be very interested in testing … have a Bold 9700. I currently also use the iPhone app.

My coworkers are rubbing this app in my face with their Android & iPhone based devices, please escalate the development priority on the UI for BB OS v5.0. Would gladly volunteer as a beta tester for you. Keep up the good work!
Many Thanks.

I take it this has come to a halt. We haven’t heard anything in weeks except that it continues to be tested.
