ShopSavvy International Release

We released ShopSavvy in the US and UK in October.  The rest of the world started complaining soon after, “Why can’t we get ShopSavvy?”  We have heard you and we are doing something about it.  Soon ShopSavvy will be available worldwide in localized format (i.e. translated with support for local currency).  In the meantime, ANYONE-ANYWHERE, can download the beta and load it on their phone.  Jailbroke G1? No problem.  No SIM? No problem. ShopSavvy for everyone:

  1. GREAT NEWS!!! And yes, I was one of the ones complaining (from Australia), but the link doesn’t work – says it cannot find the page. :)

  2. what is the source of your data for search results for online offers? What is the source of your data for search results for local offers?

    Thanks,
    Chris.

  3. The beta page still says it’ll send you an SMS (how does that work if you don’t have a sim?) and wants you to choose “T-Mobile US” or “T-Mobile UK” – what about the rest of us?

  4. Update: I tried entering my Irish phone number (+353…) and my email, and never got an SMS. :(

  5. So we only offer beta (via SMS) to UK and US. Ireland is not covered, but I have asked the guys to create an alternative signup for non-UK and US people.

  6. So, er, your post above says “In the meantime, ANYONE-ANYWHERE, can download the beta and load it on their phone. Jailbroke G1? No problem. No SIM? No problem. ShopSavvy for everyone”.

Shouldn’t you change that to say “Only people in the US or UK with a T-Mobile SIM”?

Incidentally, despite not being findable through the marketplace, ShopSavvy randomly appeared in my ‘featured apps’ list yesterday, at which point I was able to install it.

  7. The post above says it’s “ANYONE-ANYWHERE, can download the beta and load it on their phone. Jailbroke G1? No problem. No SIM? No problem. ShopSavvy for everyone”, though. What gives?

Incidentally, though, ShopSavvy randomly appeared on my ‘featured apps’ list yesterday, at which point I was able to download it, despite it not showing up in the rest of the store.

  8. LOL – maybe I should change that. Our developer added the SMS verification AFTER I wrote the post. Its not like we actually talk to each other. Soon EVERYONE will be able to get ShopSavvy. Talking to the guys in a minute.
