Holy Cow! Walmart is going to start carrying the T-Mobile G1, selling the Android phone for $148.88 according to Chris Ziegler. Look for the phones in your local Walmart next month. The G1 is becoming perhaps the most affordable smartphone on the planet (i.e. based on what you get for the money)! Very Cool!

Not to be outdone, Apple my lower the price of the iPhone to $99. Soon carriers may pay YOU to carry their phone.

This Saturday SpringStage hosted approximately 50 ‘campers’ at AndroidDevCamp. Check out the Flickrstream of the event here. I think the knowledge, excitment and interest of the participants showed that Android has the potential of becoming a significant player in the mobile space. It goes without saying we are pumped about Android and its potential and as a result we are making BIG bets on the platform. Thanks to everyone who attended, I think it was a valuable event (at least for me anyway).

Aaron Tan made my day with his blog post today where he said, “ShopSavvy will revolutionize how we do our shopping and eventually our way of life.“ I didn’t agree with his analysis of the G1 or Android, but I can’t help but think he is a genius when it comes to our application. Thanks Aaron!

In a shocking turn of events, The Weather Channel’s weather application is now number one in the Google Market ahead of ShopSavvy – now only the second most popular application. It was fun while it lasted.
